About Us

Champions for Children Child Development Center is the premier childcare center in Oconee County. With the capacity to serve 196 children and their families, Champions for Children offers the highest quality in childcare, as well as a firm educational foundation. The center has been set up based on the guidelines of the Bright from the Start - Standards of Care program. The center strives to do what is best for each individual child, promoting optimum growth and development.

Creativity and play is at the forefront of activities at the center. Children have ample supplies and materials with which to create and enjoy structured as well as non-structured play opportunities. The staff plans a curriculum that stresses developmentally appropriate practices with an emphasis on creative expression and problem solving skills.

Directions from Atlanta Area:
Take Highway 316 E towards Athens.  Turn right onto the Highway 78 W exit ramp toward Monroe.  Turn right at the stop light onto Monroe Highway (also called Moina Michael Highway).  Drive approximately 1.1 miles on Monroe Highway - you will pass 1 stop light and 3 left turn lanes.  At the third left turn, make a U turn on Monroe Highway in front of The Village at Franklin Grove.  Immediately move into the right turn lane and enter the Hampton Valley Business Park at 2881 Monroe Highway.  Champions for Children is the first building on the left. 

Directions from Athens Area: 
Follow the Athens Perimeter (US-129S/ US-29S).  Take Exit 1 onto Highway 316 W.  Continue on Highway 316 W.  Take the Highway 78 W exit ramp toward Monroe.  Turn left at the stop light onto Monroe Highway (also called Moina Michael Highway).  Drive approximately 1.1 miles on Monroe Highway - you will pass 1 stop light and 3 left turn lanes.  At the third left turn, make a U turn on Monroe Highway in front of The Village at Franklin Grove.  Immediately move into the right turn lane and enter the Hampton Valley Business Park at 2881 Monroe Highway.  Champions for Children is the first building on the left.
